How did you celebrate the Portland Trail Blazers’ 2018 Summer League championship? Come on, I know some of you celebrated! The Blazers beat the Los Angeles Lakers 91–73 on July 17, finishing a perfect 7–0 in Las Vegas.
Back then, I asked fans for their funniest celebration stories and offered a Summer League Champions T-shirt as a prize. This was a 2018 contest and is no longer active, but it’s still fun to look back at the video!
A championship over the Lakers
Portland got a rematch with the Lakers after losing to them in the 2017 Summer League final. This time the Blazers took care of business. K.J. McDaniels led Portland with 17 points and seven rebounds and earned championship game MVP honors.
Seven wins and a championship over the Lakers? Sounds like a reason to celebrate to me!
